Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
We arrived in Jordan after a long 14-hour layover in Dubai. It must’ve been only a few hours when we needed to get up and get ready for our first long day in the Kingdom. Jordan may be popular now because of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, can be found in the southern part of this country. Yet, Jordan has been present in one of the oldest books known to man.
We are not very religious but historical places like the site of Jesus’ baptism, or seeing a preserved mosaic map from the 6th century sparked my curiosity. We also visited the Dead Sea, aka the lowest point on earth, and decided to dip and float on the salty waters despite the very overcast and cool January weather. The best part exploring Jordan was driving through the ‘scenic route’ where we get to see the Dead Sea when the sun was out. The beautiful torquoise water made me think I was somewhere else in the world. If only we had more time to stop and explore…
