Da Nang, Vietnam
On the silver white sands of Bac My An Beach lies Pullman Danang Beach Resort, an exceptional property boasting minimalist modern luxury with a tropical feel. With it’s lush gardens, manicured lawns, Fiber-Stars swimming pool, and exceptionally clean private beach, Pullman Danang Beach Resort is a true oasis in the vibrant, up-and-coming Da Nang, Vietnam.
Visiting Vietnam has been on my bucket list for a long time now and it’s a shame it took me a while to visit this beautiful country. After exploring the beautiful emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, we flew from Hai Phong to Da Nang, an urban city in Vietnam’s Central Coast. A gateway to the lovely town of Hoi An and the Imperial City of Hue, Da Nang is the perfect base for exploring the central region.
Located just a short 15 minute drive from Danang International Airport, we arrived at Pullman Danang Beach Resort at around 10:00 in the morning. From the minute our taxi parked, we were greeted and assisted by the hotel staff, with our luggages immediately taken care of. As soon as we walked up the steps to the main lobby, we were instantly transported into a minimalist stylish haven. Natural light filled the large open-space hall with wooden details, exposed beams, and bright plush chairs. The floor-to-ceiling windows of the sunken bar which is just a few steps away from the reception desk show the view of the pools and the beautiful beach.
We were able to do an early check-in time, and were given ginger tea as welcome drink. Ms. Uyen showed us to our Deluxe room on the 4th floor of the main hotel building. As soon as we walked into our room, we were excited to see how large and spacious it was. Sliding doors lead to the balcony which overlooks the pool with a view of the sea. I personally loved watching the sunrise from there.
We walked around the lush green grounds of the hotel and one of my favorite spots in the property was the Butterfly Garden. It was a perfect place to visit when you want to just have some quiet time. After walking around, we got ready for our massages. As soon as we entered The Nang Spa, we were again given welcome drinks, then changed into our robes and were led to the very roomy massage room. They started off with foot scrub then we proceeded into our treatment tables. We did 2 hikes prior to coming to Da Nang and the very relaxing Swedish massage was just what I needed.
There are two restaurants in the resort, the Five-Star Luxury Restaurant Epice and the beach-front Azure Beach Lounge. We had our lunch at Azure and ordered steamed clams and sea bass fillet, both of which were very sumptuous. We also had Pan-seared scallops which was quickly devoured in minutes. For breakfasts, we went to Restaurant Epice which have the largest variety of breakfast selections I’ve ever seen in a hotel. They serve both western and Asian choices, and have mini-stations like the Healthy station, Vietnamese noodle station, Banh Mi Station, Egg station, and make your own Bloody Mary Station.
Restaurant Epice recently launched a new menu with signature local and fusion dishes. We got to try the flavorful Fish noodles with Vietnamese picked leaf salad and the Korean Bimbimbap, a rice bowl with veggies, gochuang, minced pork and egg. We were hungry one afternoon and ordered the BBQ Meat Pizza made with chargrilled beef fillet, prosciutto, smoked chicken, and chorizo.
One of the activities we did when we were at the resort was to attend a Vietnamese cooking class. Led by Chef Hong of Restaurant Epice, we made Vietnamese pancakes and Rice Paper rolls, hands down the best-tasting spring rolls I’ve ever had. Another activity we had fun doing is having an afternoon tea party at Infinity Bar. The laid back setting with the view of the sea and the savory treats make it perfect for an afternoon of catching up.
The best part of our stay was enjoying the beach. Since Pullman Danang Beach Resort has it’s own private beach, we didn’t have a hard time looking for a spot whether by the infinity pool, or at the beach itself. The pool area had plenty of loungers nicely laid out, and the beach area was pristine clean with huts and loungers, and attentive staff who will bring you a pitcher of water without you even asking for it.
The resort also offers plenty of water activities such surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, banana boat, and many other water sports but unfortunately our time didn’t allow us to try those out.
Pullman Danang Beach Resort made out trip so much special, it was very hard to leave. If there’s anything we regret about our trip to Da Nang, it would be not staying longer.
Special thanks to Pullman Danang Beach Resort for providing us complimentary stay, meals, and activities. As always, all photos and opinions are my own.
