Vienna, Austria
When I think of Vienna, I think of gorgeous architecture, classical music, and interesting history. Couldn’t come up of any better way to immerse ourselves in Viennese elegance than staying in the iconic Park Hyatt Vienna. Housed in a 100-year old beautifully-restored building which used serve as bank headquarters, this hotel exudes modern luxury with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Right at the heart of the city, Park Hyatt Vienna is located in the Am Hof Square, in the center of the most exclusive shopping district in Vienna called Goldenes Quartier. Flagship stores of international fashion labels are literally a few steps away, definitely a shopper’s paradise. Am Hof Square is also a part of the First District of Vienna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the most important sights in Vienna such as St. Stephan’s Cathedral, Hofburg Palace, Spanish Riding School, and the Museums Quartier are all a few minutes away by foot.
Park Hyatt Vienna is tastefully decorated and features 143 rooms, including 41 suites, an all-day restaurant aptly-called The Bank Brasserie & Bar, a whiskey and cigar lounge called Living Room, and a Viennese style coffee-house with outdoor terrace called Cafe Am Hof (which I think is the best place for people watching). The hotel is also known for it’s full-service Arany Spa, which boasts a 15-meter indoor swimming pool located in the original bank vault.
I had a fair share of staying in luxury hotels in Asia, the United States, the Middle East, and Europe and I have to say this hotel is one of my favorites! It just shows true elegance and character, has the nicest staff and I’m not even kidding. From the moment we entered the building, we were assisted right away with a quick check-in process, received a room upgrade to King Room Deluxe, and were given a lovely welcome package. Our beautiful room is the largest I’ve had in Europe and overlooks one of the gorgeous streets of Vienna’s Goldnenes Quartier. The feature I loved most in the room is the bright and spacious all-marble bathroom with heated floors and nicely scented Blaise Mautin amenities.
Breakfast is served at the gorgeous Bank Brasserie and Bar, located in the former cashier hall. The high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers and the open kitchen design kept me in awe as I devoured on the generous buffet spread. The bar area was truly something out of a movie. We received gold coins included in the welcome package which we used to purchase drinks from the bar. How clever is that?
Our stay in Vienna was a memorable one thanks to our experience at this lovely hotel. I can definitely say, I will be coming back!
