Fjaðrárgljúfur, Iceland
Exactly. I know what you’re thinking. Fjadra what? Up to now, I don’t know how to say it. But after seeing pics, and watching Justin Bieber’s video (I’m not even a fan), it’s hard to pass up an opportunity to visit this beautiful canyon. I have hiked one of the deepest canyons in the world and visited a natural wonder slot canyon in AZ, but never have I seen a canyon like this. For one thing, it’s mostly green… with sprinkles of snow all around. It is massive, and it takes a little hike to get from the car park areas to the canyon itself. Make sure you bring comfy and slip resistant shoes, especially in winter. Fjaðrárgljúfur is believed to be formed about nine thousand years ago, at the end of Ice Age. It’s not as popular as the stops in the Golden Circle, but that’s what makes it even more magical!
