La Jolla, California
Just a few miles north of Downtown San Diego lies one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. I couldn’t believe my own eyes that this Jewel is right here in California, a short ride away from where I used to live.
Driving to La Jolla took about 20 mins, and as soon as you exit the freeway you will be see the affluent California style hilly neighborhood that is set right by the Pacific Ocean. Turning right to Prospect Place, the smell of marine life would be validated by the singing of the sea lions sunbathing at the rocks. Early morning hikes at Torrey Pines will lead me salivating for Coast Toast. And the coastline is the perfect backdrop to a beautiful sunset run.
My first time in La Jolla was in 2011, when my friends were visiting San Diego and I happen to be their personal tour guide. Being new in the area myself, I was pleasantly surprise by how beautiful it is in this part of California. Having lived in Los Angeles for 6 years, I’ve heard of amazing places to visit in San Diego but was constantly flying to New York or abroad, never really bothered to check out what’s in my own backyard. I’m glad I did and now I learned to appreciate more the beauty of what’s around me.

I visited La Jolla on April and not only the beach is incredible but also the route from San Diego, no wonder why they named it after “La Jolla scenic drive”! Love it! Jealous you live there 🙂

Thank you!
You sometimes forget to have adventures in the places around yourself, sometimes we get a bit to caught up in going somewhere for adventure. But, I really like my local area now that we have started to explore.
Lovely photos as always!
Thanks Kerri! We really need to explore more what’s around us!
