Sausalito, California
Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco is one lovely hillside city by the water. Sausalito is probably one of the places I will never get tired of visiting. There’s something about the ambiance here that’s very calming and chic, a contrast from San Fran’s busy and artistic lifestyle.
The waterfront is where one can stroll to pass time, there are restaurants, shops, little art galleries and wine bars around. There’s also a Benetton store – one of the only 2 in California. In warmer weather and weekends, you’ll probably find a folk singer in the town square. Heading to the other direction, you’ll start seeing one yacht after another, and some interesting houseboats. Taj Mahal replica, anyone?
I’ve been to Sausalito more than a few times, more often when I had some friends and family visiting me when I was still living in the City. And every single person who I took there was pleasantly surprised of this quaint little town.
