Paris, France
The walk at this Paris’ famed avenue is about 1.3 km long (or about 0.7 mile) if you start from Place de la Concorde ending all the way to Arc de Triomphe. But my friend and I decided to do it all the way from Louvre. Add little detours on Rue Saint-Honoré and Avenue George V, also stopping by some more shops on this street and queuing up at Ladurée location for their famous macarons plus carrying our heavy purchases (2 coffee mugs for me and then some), we were beyond tired by the time we got to the roundabout.
We decided to look for the nearest metro, get some rest, drop off our shopping purchases and then come back later that afternoon to avoid the crowds, the heat and prepare ourselves for the climb up. About 4 hours and 284 steps up later, we were on top of Napoleon’s Arc with the summer sun just beginning to set over one of Paris’ famous streets – Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
La plus belle avenue du monde. The most beautiful avenue in the world. Indeed.
Happy Bastille Day everyone!

Thanks Ashley!
We never actually reached the Arc when we visited Paris a few years ago… Not that we realised that on the trip haha. Maybe next time!
The view from the top is amazing!
Posts like this make me want to book a flight. Paris looks so crisp and white. I am actually applying for a grad program based in Paris, it’s a long shot but hey! we’ll see. 🙂
